Jack feels it when the lights go out of Owen’s eyes. It starts in his hands and moves all the way through him like a ghost. Owen looks away as it happens. He quits moving – quits everything – and both their worlds grind to a halt.
He’s made the wrong choice. This is his fault. It’s too late.
He’d trusted Martha to fix this, but everything happened too fast. They couldn’t even manage to stabilize him before he bled out. Now Owen’s dead and no one – not even Jack – can do anything about it. You can’t kiss away death. But maybe…
