Notes/Summary: Pay no attention to the emo little post-ep behind the curtain. (VAGUE SPOILERS FOR 2x06 - "Reset")
They push the pain down with their fingertips. They touch because they have to, and because neither of them is willing to face up to what happened on his own. None of them would have claimed to lead a charmed life, but Jack's return had felt like a talisman. Things were too good to go wrong, and hadn't they all been through worse?
It had only been a matter of time, really. Sooner or later...
They hang on to one other, two sparks of desperation flickering against what's left of the night. It's not okay. It will never be okay.
